| General Overview | Beth does have ‘fire’ in her which as a child was known to erupt in frustration or to occasionally escape as well-meant mischief although she has learned over the years to suppress and keep this side of her away from the general gaze. | Hobbies & Interests | Loves being outdoors and just walking. She feels like as a child she explored every nook and canny of Corsica so the universe is her next step. Her main hobbies apart from learning languages is photograpgy. What better way is there to remember things than to take a picture of everywhere and anything? |
| Personal History | To friends and family, Beth's birth was viewed as nothing short of a miracle and a godsend because four years earlier, her parents were told they could never have children. Despite this painful setback, both parents had managed to build successful careers and had adopted two boys - he as journalist and her as a professor at Università di Corsica. On the outside, Beth's childhood seemed perfect. The children seemed the centre of her parents' lives, and as anyone might expect of a couple who had waited so long to have children. They adopted two more children bringing the household to five children. She had a childhood filled with potential, friends, and peace. Intelligent and charming, with a big imagination and keen aesthetic sense, from an early age he had a love of artistic expression, especially words which turned into an obsession. Corsica was still a holiday destination for people all over the world and Beth found all the different languages easy to learn due to already being dual lingual in Italian and French from the Corsica being so close to the Italian Sardinia and there countries always being so close. At university, she fell madly in love with someone nearly 12 years older in the form of her English Language professor and were soon married before the year was out. Beth finished her degree to become an exo-linguist. They grew closer and closer as the years passed, the stigma of him marrying someone younger and his student faded as they realised just how solid a relationship they were. It was around that time that Thomas started to feel tired and not able to see straight. He was taken to hospital where it was discovered he had a brain tumour that was inoperable and soon faded from this life. With this life-changing event, Beth joined Starfleet and trained for three years to gain her commission. |
