| Personal History | Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Kyle learned to enjoy the outdoors but at the age of ten, his family moved to Alpha Centauri due to his father's assignment in Starfleet. Growing up on a Human colony was much different than growing up on Earth. However, he found an interest in cooking while helping his mother and soon his mother opened a restaurant on Alpha Centauri called "Cranston's." Kyle also began to help out with colony maintenance on a volunteer basis. Between school, helping at his mother's restaurant, and maintenance, Kyle was very busy, but he learned valuable social skills in the process. At the age of 17, Kyle entered Starfleet Academy, aided with a recommendation from his father, studying engineering, where he did well in engineering courses but average in general education courses. At the age of 21, Kyle served as an engineer aboard Starbase One for six years but became bored and requested a transfer aboard the EDF Mars where he made Chief Engineer after six years before being reassigned to Starfleet Academy as an instructor to up and coming engineers. He served there before changing to Starfleet Reserve in order to focus more on helping his mother with her restaurant on Alpha Centauri but having learned of an open chef position abord the newly commissioned NX Class Atlantis, he jumped at the chance to serve aboard an NX Class on deep space assignment. |
