Personality & Traits
General Overview | Megan grew up an only child, she quickly made friends and picked up languages very easily. Her mother said that was due to her father's side, but would never say more than that. Megan is quick witted, kind, but with a temper that needs to stay in check. She is a loyal friend.
Strengths & Weaknesses | Her strengths are her sense of fairness and her willingness to dive into new situations with an open mind. Her weakness is always believing the best in everyone, to the point of getting emotionally hurt more times than she'd like to admit. |
|
Ambitions | She wants to be a diplomat, using her language expertise and her general helpful nature to bring peace into hostile situations.
Hobbies & Interests | She writes novels under an assumed name. She also likes to write to pen pals on as many worlds as she can, to keep up her skills in other languages. |
Personal History | Megan had heard the townspeople whisper about her from the time she could understand speech. Questions of who her father was, why he had never been introduced to any of the others of their clan, where was he now? Megan didn’t have any of the answers, and she knew better than to ask her mother. She was a bright child, with a knack for languages that bordered on incredible. She got a job at 16 as a filing clerk at the mayor’s office, and quickly worked her way up to being the office manager by the time she graduated school. Entering her country’s military force as a linguist, she left her home town and traveled extensively for the next five years, meeting a man who would become her fiance, only to lose him in a raid against their encampment. She’s never mentioned him to anyone back home, especially not to her mother. To say their relationship is strained is putting it mildly. When she finally came home, she realized that she had changed, but the townspeople had not. She was stronger, a bit wiser, and she knew that she could never be happy in the small town her mother had chosen for their home. She joined the Academy and wrote a letter to her mother explaining her reasons as best as she could. She believes that she can find her place in Starfleet and perhaps find out answers about her father someday. Even if she never learns his name, she will strive to better understand the reasons a man could abandon his family without a second glance. |
