| Personal History | Samuel was born on a cold muggy night in London, England on May 22nd, 2114. His father Winston was a professional singer and his mother, Abigail, was his father’s agent/manager. At a young age he was lucky that they never chose to move around due to his fathers work so he managed to maintain his English roots and learnt about the history of his ancestors and kept an eye on his father’s career. A couple of years after his arrival on the green grasses of Earth was the birth of his brother Patrick, then his sister Jessie. They were a close-knit unit throughout growing up, Sam always being the protector and asserting himself into situations that were beyond his years. One year he found out that Patrick was being bullied in school, and that one day after school he was to fight a much older boy of 17. Sam heard this and took it upon himself to defend his brothers honour and broke the other boy’s nose when the ‘negotiations’ got a bit out of hand. So, at 15 Sam was placed in a juvenile station for a couple of nights to ‘think over’ his actions. Truth be told, and he did admit this to his father, he’d do it again if the circumstances were the same. His father patted him on the back as a sign of respect. Family was everything. Samuel was no slouch. He was an athlete, always running, doing weights and boxing when he was younger. This has followed him throughout all his adult life. In 2132 he was accepted into Oxford University to study History. Sam studied hard and left with a PhD in Earth History. During this time, he met his future wife Katie. He was out a run one night and bumped into her. She pepper-sprayed him thinking he was a mugger, as there had been a rash of recent crime during that time. It eventually turned into a ‘sorry, let me take you for coffee to apologise’ thing and blossomed from there. In 2137 Sam and Katie married. Her family were from the North America, so they ended up settling there. Later that same year Sam learned he had been selected for the SEAL program in San Diego and they couldn’t have been happier. Over the course of the next 20 or so years Sam worked with his SEAL team, even spending some time on the NX01 during 2153 after the Xindi attack on Earth. Sam was part of the team that rescued Ensign Hoshi Sato from the Reptilian vessel but soon departed in 2154 to join the NX-05 Atlantis. Note: Due to the growth apart and lifestyle of SEAL officers, Sam and Katie divorced in 2148. In this marriage they had three children, James and the twin Kayla and Sophie. |
