Personality & Traits
General Overview | Halli is not your typical Earth Starfleet pilot. She is quite flamboyant, a little flirty (some might say she has had her fair share of romantic partners), and has a total disregard for the rule book. She, however, is an EXCELLENT pilot, operating on instinct and experience, more than on the "rules" of flying. She has been a pilot since young childhood, as her father flew for sport, and taught her, and she loves being in the air more than anything. She is a pretty good friend to her friends, and decently respectful of authority, though if given TOO much free time, she becomes restless and self-destructive. Her only secret is that she borders on being too thin, a result of an unhealthy low self-image, preoccupation with things that are not food (ie, she gets too focused to eat), and overexercise, however, she is on a steady program with the Counselor to help her work through these things (unwillingly, but she wants to keep her wings so she goes). |

Personal History | She was born in the Earth city of Lyon, in the South of France. She is human. Her parents divorced when she was very young. Her father was a high-powered lawyer, but her mother struggled to keep employment, due to an alcohol problem. Her father was a licensed sport pilot, and had taught Maggie to fly so she could accompany him and his friends on hunting trips so he could drink and she could fly soberly. He died when she was 16. She matriculated through school as a mostly average student, concerned more about boys and her friends than her studies. When she was in High School, though, she went to Paris with her class to sit in on a Career presentation about Earth StarFleet-something she considered grossly American. However, she was fascinated by the pilots, and, already being a skilled pilot herself, she knew that joining the program could help lift her up out of just being a housewife and allow her to fly as she chose to. She worked on getting her grades up, and was able to do so, enough that she got a sponsorship from her regional government to attend the Earth Starfleet Academy. There, she concentrated on flying, but also majored in law. She had several boyfriends, was a cheerleader, and was involved in several on-campus extracurricular activities. Her mother died a few weeks after she graduated the Academy from a heart attack due to her alcohol problem. She has one uncle, who is a bachelor, and lives on Alpha Centauri, and sends her faberge eggs inexplicably every year on her birthday. She has them all displayed in her quarters. Due to her naturally feckless personality, it's taken Maggie a bit of time to rise through the ranks; she's only a Lt.JG, because she had a fatal accident that was determined to be her fault-she was flying a SAR (search and rescue) mission on a rainy night, and decided she could maneuver in the fog, and couldn't. She crashed onto a hilltop, and killed her Senior Chief. The alien species they were rescuing all survived, though. In her first year at the Academy, she met her future husband, Freddy, an engineering student. They married right after graduation, but separated after only six months of marriage-part of it was due to her cheating, part of it was because they had different assignments, and a part of it was because Freddy was self-centered. |
