The Duality of the Situation

Timeline: Day 4, Month 1, Year 0 15:30.

At the Commander’s request, I am preparing to join the landing party to support our ground operations and hopefully find our missing XO. I will admit to a certain duality in my mood at present; a natural concern for my crew and the current predicament we find ourselves in of course, but also an excitement at going down to the surface and exploring. This will not distract me from the mission and my orders at hand, but I can’t help but feel that to succeed on all fronts, we will need our natural explorer instincts that brought all of us aboard the Atlantis in the first place. I do hope the Sloan is alright.
