Finn lay breathless on the bunk staring up at the bunk above him trying to calm down enough to speak some sense. Half his uniform was somewhere in Christian’s room but at that moment he really did not care if Petty Officer Tozer came in there and then and discovered him. It would be worth the embarrassment of exposing himself and Christians's relationship for the last couple of hours.
“Well…” the man finally mumbled, grinning at the man who was looking more than smug. “I am pretty sure that you feigned sickness.” He finally chuckled burying his head against the man’s shoulder.
Christian scoffed slightly in amusement as he felt the man nestle in more. He leaned down and kissed the top of his head. "Believe me, seeing the look on your face when I woke up in sickbay," he said before trailing off, "Well, let's just say I don't want to see that look again." He wrapped his arm around Finn and pulled him close, feeling the warmth between them.
"I was worried. You collapsed in front of me," Finn commented softly trying to not ruin the mood between them but he really had been worried. It had been a sinking feeling that he could not explain yet but it was something powerful that he had not experienced before. "Today had been a whirlwind of emotions." He finally decided.
Christian sensed the worry in Finn's voice as he spoke. He pulled him closer, wrapping his arms and holding him tight. "I can imagine," he said softly before kissing the top of his head. "I'm just glad it wasn't the other way around, I don't handle surprises well," he offered.
“And you think that was me handling a surprise well.” Finn laughed loudly before he shook his head quieting again. That was not well at all, he had panicked and then got annoyed at the medical staff.
"Poor choice of words my dear," Christian said kissing the top of Finn's head. "I know you were worried about me," he said softly before laughing slightly, "Though you should've seen the look on your face when Avira mentioned your plants were the cause. I thought you were going to let her have it, but you showed great restraint." He then paused and looked down at him with a wink, "Although, you didn't show much restraint a few moments ago."
What was he meant to say to that? He had been offended by the doctor and her comment about his plants and them potentially being the cause of the man collapsing in front of him. Finn blushed and nudged him before rolling over to look down at him. "Neither did you." He argued in a soft voice before ducking to kiss him.
Christian returned his kiss, breathing in deeply and wrapping his arms around Finn's neck. He paused and pulled back slightly to look up into his eyes. "So, what does this mean for you and I now. Are we making this official," he asked, voice trailing off as he searched the man's eyes for an answer.
“I thought we were doing that anyway?” Finn wondered lightly and smirked just a little as the effect the man was having on him. “I thought we were just going to keep it on the low.” He murmured glancing around the room and catching the chronometer telling him they had very little time left in private.
Christian furrowed his brow in mock confusion. "Did we decide that," he said before catching Finn's eye and giving him a wink. "What's the harm in going public," he said before following Finn's look and catching the chronometer. realizing the time, he looked down at Finn. "Though, getting dressed would be prudent about now," he said before leaning down and giving him a deep kiss.
There was no harm in going public but he was more worried about Christian’s standing with the crew. Most of the people onboard thought him odd. “We both need a shower.” The man protested as he was distracted with a kiss. It was a kiss that tempted him far to much to stay there.
Christian pulled back and gave Finn a look. He could tell that his avoidance of Christian talking about going public was an indicator. He decided to press the issue. "Finn, what aren't you telling me," he asked giving him a look. He knew Finn could be flakey, but he hoped they had come far enough where he would open up to Christian.
“Well it’s just I don’t want to damage your reputation.” The man said finally as he saw the older man was not going to let him avoid stuff. “I am the weird hydroponics guy and you were you are very much not that.” He said with a blush. It was the first time he had admitted it even to his self that people found him odd and very few people ventured or bothered to get to know him. He was an after thought to most people.
Christian could tell this issue truly bothered Finn. Personally, Christian didn't care what others thought about him and Finn being a couple. But he also knew Finn's own misgivings were unfounded. Everyone knew why he kept to himself in the hydroponics bay, because Finn was still struggling to cope with the loss of his bunkmates. But Christian had seen the signs that he was coming out of his shell. While small, they were still there.
"Finn, I'm touched that your worried about my reputation," he said before continuing, "But I don't care what other people think about us. And I think your not giving our shipmates enough credit. No one thinks your the 'weird' hydroponics guy." He paused for a bit before reaching out and softly turning Finn to face him. He wanted him to look him in the eyes when he spoke the next words. "I know your still dealing with your loss, and that's why people have been giving you some space to deal with that. But I've seen the light coming back in your eyes," he said softly.
Finn gave him a have you checked properly look but shrugged a little. Christian did not know what had happened and the words that had been said about him. “I know what I have heard.” The man pointed out but he was right he was wa see ally trying to get better. It had been a year nearly, he needed to get back to himself. “I’m trying.” He said softly.
"I know you are," Christian said reassuringly. He took Finn's hand in his and gave it a small squeeze. "And I'm willing to help you," he said before giving him a soft smile, "And who is saying your weird? Nobody talks bad about my boyfriend." He was attempting to lighten the mood, but saying Finn was his boyfriend was the first time they had acknowledged their relationship.
“Oh shush.” Finn said shaking his head at the man saying that Finn was his boyfriend. It left him feeling warm and fuzzy in all the right places. Finn was about to say more when a sharp knock happened from the door making Finn wince as he realised the moment was over. “Should have gone to my room.” He chuckled liking that at least his room mate was polite.
Christian looked towards the door at the sound of the knock before facing Finn. He reached over and tossed him his shirt before grabbing his own and throwing it on. As Finn pulled it over his head, Christian looked over towards the door, "Come." The door opened and in stepped Petty Officer Tozer who was carrying some PADDs. "Lieutenant Reade wanted me to see if you were feeling well enough to look over these lab reports," Tozer said as he entered their shared quarters before stopping and realizing that Christian was not alone. Looking from Finn to Christian and the overall state of their bunk, Tozer gave Christian an upraised eyebrow. "Am I interrupting something here," he asked.
Finn pulled his own t shirt on and searched out the rest of his uniform as Tozer came in. “Completely but it is okay Petty Officer.” Finn said sat there putting on the rest of his uniform as Tozer grinned looking at the pair.
“Sorry. I thought seeing someone was meant to be sick and resting.” He commented his eyebrow not lowering yet as he watched the pair.
Christian shrugged and gave a nervous laugh. "I was... resting...wasn't I Finn," he said sheepishly before standing and taking the offered PADD from Tozer. He could feel himself blushing and knew Tozer would ask for all the details once Finn was gone. Tozer, knowing three was a crowd, grabbed his civillian cloths and toiletries bag. "I'll be in the head, that should give you two some more...time," Tozer said still keeping the raised eyebrow up before he exited the room. As the door shut behind him, Christian met Finn's gaze and the two men started laughing.
“Well that was interesting.” Finn commented trying to not blush or be embarrassed.
"Indeed," Christian said running his hands through his hair. He could already see Tozer mouthing off to everyone he saw about the two of them. After Finn was dressed, Christian stood and crossed the small distance and pulled him close again. He kissed him gently before looking into the man's eyes. "And you can bet that you and I won't stay in the shadows much longer," he said softly with a grin on his face.
