Beth was not sure how much more she could inspire herself let alone anyone else as she stared at the images of the ship that was on long-range scans with the distress call that was in a loop. She was sat at her desk in her quarters trying to go through everything the day had brought them, it had been business as usual until the message had been picked up on all know band waves and in all known languages.

It was the focus the ship needed after Christmas and New year but she worried it would give them false hope. It had been discussed with science and they were constantly scanning for a world they could settle on if the fuel was not found, it would be the only option left to the crew. It was a safe thought and only something the senior crew knew to guard against the crew becoming worried and lose hope but it was there as a backup plan. She would be complacent if she was not preparing for something like that.

She knew she could settle down on a planet if she needed to, it did promote inside of the emotions of her past for a moment before she shook it away. She did not need those thoughts, did not need to remember dance nights in Bastille and Ajaccio or her husband and his shed where he tinkled with devices pre-world war three to try and bring them back to life. It threatened to explode out and consume her for a moment before she sat up straight and took in a few deep breaths. She needed to go for a walk and stop thinking about things. It would only gather in her brain and attach themselves if she did not.

It was how she found herself in the science lab looking at the information that was coming in the closer and closer they got to the ship. It was bigger than anything she had ever seen including the Vrav ship, she just hoped that they used the same type of fuel system that they did and were willing to aid them as it was getting dire now.

They had twenty days’ worth left and no m class planets in range yet. It was the only reason that was moving from their path to help, they were hoping it would yield some fuel. It had to have fuel, they just could not keep lurching from one emergency to another, first food and water and now fuel. The ship had been cursed since Leah had been killed despite Beth's desperate attempt to change the ship and crews luck.

How could a ship used to receiving regular resupply options survive without them now?

Something needed to give and change but what?

It was the questions she kept asking herself and the senior officers but no one yet seemed to have an idea of what to do.

Maybe this ship and its crew would give them some ideas?
