It's a Date! It's a date?

Mission:
Mission 4 - Eden
Location: Mess Hall
575 words - 1.2 OF Standard Post Measure
It had been a long time since Manishie had a good meal, resequenced food never tasted quite the same, but the large open dining area on the alien vessel was happily churning out meals for anyone that bothered to ask politely, and gave a nice view of the stars in the process, it made the mess hall on the Atlantis look like a cramped cave i comparison, "I'm telling you, Luca, it knows exactly what you want to eat and gives you a perfect copy of it." At least that's what she had been told by the others that had already been to this place. The entire thing had been a miracle, and they were making the most of it.
Luca sat next to Manishie nursing a drink from Atlantis resequencer as he looked out at the stars. "That may be, but it is untried technology, for all we know the ship could be like that fictional space station from that ancient Kubrick film, or worse it could be something similar to that 1979 film by R. Scott." He paused for a moment. "So for now I will stick with what I know is safe."
A small frown formed on Manishie's features, "I don't know any of those," she admitted, though the fact that he used it as an example now told her all she needed to know about the plot, "but don't you feel like this resequenced stuff is a little bland?"
"It can be, but then again, we take enough risks at the moment. I am happy to shift once we know, but I think a staged approach would be best at this point, until we know that everything is safe. Don't you?" Luca asked, before sipping his drink once more.
Manishie shrugged, she supposed that was true, but she was also really sick and tired of the bland foods and drinks from the resequencer. It didn't matter that the Engineers insisted there shouldn\t be a taste difference, she could tell a real curry from a resequenced one, "I was planning on getting my meal there tonight, but I don't really want to go alone." Her blue eyes peered at Luca, clearly indicating why she had brought up the topic in the first place.
Luca looked over at Manishie calmly. "If you're asking me out Manishie just spit it out." he teased. "Of course I will go." he said after a moment. before he sipped his drink.
"Oh. No. No of course not. I wouldn't. We couldn't." Manishie felt her cheeks heat up with shame, before letting out a big sigh of relief that he was just teasing her, "Thanks. Appreciate it." She was really looking forward to having a nice meal, "so, what do you think you'll be having?" She was struggling to narrow down her choices, with the ability to choose everything there was just the fear that she would make the wrong decision.
Luca shrugged. "To be honest I am not sure, I will probably make my choice in the momment." he said as he stood.
"Well, I'll see you tonight then," Manishie smiled at him, happy to have found a coconspirator in her quest to get some decent meal from the huge mystery vessel. She started to consider all the different sorts of food she'd want to indulge in, she was definitely going to have steak, probably with a side of something fried. It was going to be delectable.
