Mission: Mission 4 - Eden
Location: The Caelestis
Timeline: Day 164 13:00
932 words - 1.9 OF Standard Post Measure

Elspeth moved down the well lit Corridors of the strange craft. On her head was a holocam and she was eagerly describing the view. She intended to record everything and make sure she missed nothing as she moved through the halls and quarters. Oh, the stories she could write just based on the vessel. And its AI. Now that intriguing computer program was also part of why she wandered. She wondered if EDEN would show up.

Rounding a corner she paused and smiled, openly and honestly. "Eden!" She beamed as she darted towards the AI, her face bright.."Nice to see you again!"

The AI turned as she heard a voice and looked over at one of the crew that she had met on the bridge. “Good Morning.” The AI greet as she kept glancing upwards intrigued by what was on her head. “Apologies Ma’am but I do not know your name to properly greet you whilst you are on this vessel.”

"Oh my name is Elspeth but people call me Elf cause it is easier to pronounce." Elf bounced slightly on her toes. "Your home is amazing Eden You are very lucky to live here"

The AI cocked her head to the side taking in the woman still. They were a strange species, she wished she had something to compare them to do but everything felt like it was a blank. It was on the tip of her programming but every time she reached out to grab it from her memory banks she was tugged away or so it felt to her if she could explain it. “Elspeth this is not my home. I exist here.” She replied not understanding the concept. “I have been activated as I am The Caelestis’ Emergency Disaster Engagement Network. I am meant to engage and manage emergency response but you are correct in saying it is amazing. The Foundation did not spare any expense to create it."

"Well, your Foundation sure knows how to build a ship. I am a pilot, I pilot small craft like shuttle pods and I only just got a chance to pilot the Atlantis. More capable pilots before me in line you see, but to fly a vessel as the Caelestis..." She looked around. "She must be able to go so fast." Elf was babbling for sure. She looked at Eden. "Do you pilot the Caelestis now? Or is it on Autopilot? I mean there was an organic being before right? Or were they artificial lifeforms, but now.. ?"

EDEN looked at the young woman and smiled patiently as she listened to her. “This was the only one they have built.” She revealed. “She is able to go a lot faster but this ship is programmed to be in warp one in an emergency. I do not pilot it I just maintain the autopilot when and if it is needed. There were many lifeforms once upon a time. I do not know what happened my memory banks on that is corrupted.”

"Define fast?" Elf was curious. "We go warp 5 in a pinch. Vulcan ships can go warp 7, and they say Andorians can go that fast too. Never been on one of their ships but it must be nice... corrupted... hmm maybe our engineers can help with that?"

“We have no used warp as a term in a long time but I guess if I was to convert it, it would be Warp 10 as our basic speed outside of an emergency situation.” EDEN finally surmised with a shrug. It did not seem to matter the speed to her. It was all the same and she was not programmed to have opinions. She was designed to logically opinion everything. “I am not sure they would understand the complicities of it I am afraid.” Their ship from her scans was nowhere near as advanced as her own systems.

"Maybe but you know how right? I bet you could direct them on how to fix it." Elf smiled.

“You are trying to assist.” The AI looked at her oddly. “I do know how to guide. It is part of my programming.” The AI explained.

"No, but you know your program right?" Elf smiled. "And yes I am trying to assist you. I think if we can help you find out what happened it might help you get home."

Eden pursed her lips together before shrugging. What was the harm in allowing that? "I know my program for the most part." She surmised. "We have no home. This vessel was searching for a new home." She revealed before her image flickered and disappeared for a moment before she reappeared. "I will think about your offer. Is there anything else I can help with today?" She asked defaulting to what she was meant to do engage.

"is there a library here?" Elf asked.

EDEN smiled and nodded earnestly. It gave her the impression of wanting to please the woman, wanted to give her something other than bad news and ‘I do not know’. It was part of her programme to assist and help anyone who was on board even if they were not part of the foundation. “There are several. Deck 7, Deck 25, Deck 66.” That was something she could tell the woman. It was something that was findable in her data banks.

"Lovely. Thank you, I love reading and knowing that there are books out here that I have never read... wonderful" Elf beamed at EDEN. "Thank you, Eden!"

The Caelestis’ Emergency Disaster Engagement Network nodded and disappeared. There was nothing more she could help with there.
