Against his better judgment, Captain Vohra has accepted a contract involving the covert transport of a high-value biological asset. The client has requested complete discretion and minimal interaction. The only issue is that his ship is not set up for this type of mission; calling in his owed favour from the crew of Atlantis is the only way this transport can proceed. Leroux reluctantly agrees, so she is out of the man's debt, but it does mean the crew of the Kama Novus has to come on board. But not all is as it seems. Vohra will not reveal anything more than a set of spatial coordinates.

The Atlantis sets a course, and upon arrival at the rendezvous, they discover they will be transporting a high-level VIP: Princess Hoynestra. Vohra assures Leroux that it is a simple trip, and the drop-off point is only 10 days away at maximum warp. But 4 days into their journey, something doesn’t seem right. Atlantis has a shadow, one that doesn’t want to be seen. But then, two days later, the shadow is revealed.

It seems that Vohra has dragged Atlantis into the middle of a centuries-old conflict between the Eloshians and the Jasiminzian. T’Kreektan, First Primarch of the Eloshian Alliance, wants to end the war that has devastated his people. He believes the Princess will be all the leverage he needs to end the slaughter, and he will stop at nothing to achieve that goal.
